DPM Lauofo and MP Lautafi attend the the ACP-EU Parliamentary Assembly in Addis Ababa

Deputy Prime Minister, Fonotoe Pierre Lauofo delivers a statement on behalf of the ACP Council of Ministers to the 26th Session of the ACP-EU Parliamentary Assembly held in Addis Ababa from 25th to 27th November 2013.  The Deputy Prime Minister also responded to questions directed to the ACP Council of Ministers and further replied to a supplementary question posed by members of the Assembly.  Fonotoe spoke about the need for commitment towards fundamental human values as most of the current problems confronting humanity transcend national boundaries.  He also highlighted the importance of committed global efforts in the area of climate change and the environment.  Reference was also made of the importance of the Post-2015 Development Agenda as well as the work of WTO in the drive towards fairer trade and sustainable economic development.

Samoa’s standing representative to the JPA, Lautafi Selafi Purcell also participated in his capacity as Chairman of the Political Sub-Committee.
