Secretary-General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat visits the Chancery

The Secretary-General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, Dame Meg Taylor, paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Fatumanava on Thursday 12th April 2018 en route to London for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting from 16 – 20 April 2018.

A special session of the Pacific ACP Ambassadors was convened to welcome Dame Taylor to Brussels on the same day.

The opportunity was also taken to brief the Secretary-General on the current status of preparations for negotiations between the ACP Group and the EU on a successor agreement to Cotonou.

Dame Meg Taylor also briefed Pacific ACP Ambassadors on a number of developments taking place in the region including Leaders’ priorities, discussions on the Pacific Resilience Facility and the posting of a senior PIFS staff to assist and provide technical support to Pacific Ambassadors during the negotiations with the EU.
