ACP & ACP-EU Parliamentary Assembly Sessions held in Kigali, Rwanda
The 55th Session of the ACP Parliamentary Assembly was held in Kigali, Rwanda from 14th to 17th November 2019. The meeting preceded the 38th Session of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly from 18th to 21st November 2019 where resolutions were adopted on the impact of social media on governance, development, democracy and stability; Sustainable industrialisation and digitalisation: the approach and industrialisation and digitalisation policies for ACP countries; Promoting the active participation of young citizens in public life in ACP and EU countries; Challenges addressed at the COP25 (United Nations Conference on climate change 2-13 December 2019, Madrid, Spain); and the threat of climate change to fisheries and aquaculture. Samoa was represented by Member of Parliament, Honourable Faumuina Tiatia Faaolatane Liuga.
The Joint Parliamentary Assembly is a unique parliamentary forum which brings together 78 Members of Parliament from the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States to meet twice a year with their European counterparts in a plenary session for one week.
